Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens. We ask ourselves: who am I to be? Brillant? Gorgeous? Talented? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so that others won’t feel insecure around us. We were born to manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it is in everyone. As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
As you face your labor and birth with acceptance, without fear and knowing that your body is specially made for this sacred purpose, you open the path and shine a bright light for the women who will follow you. Thank you for making the path brighter for all of us.

On the day you give birth, 300,000 women all around the world will be giving birth too. Imagine all of you giving birth together, moving into this new life together, perhaps suffering together, and experiencing the same boundless joy, together. You must take this journey by yourself, you must surrender, by yourself, you must birth your baby into our world, by yourself. But do not be lonely. Always remember that you are not truly along. All 300,000 new mothers are with you, your mother, and her mother, and every mother than every was, is with you.
